The Best Way to Get Referrals

There's a few great things you can do by combining texting with your marketing automation tools.

First, you can use these tools to segment your groups into different buckets.

So you may have people who really like golf.

You might have people who really like running.

You might have people who play lacrosse.

You can look at those people and start sending them messages about the sport they like. Not spamming them with a bunch of information, but showing them you understand what their interests are.

But what you can also do is segment another group of people: those who bring you business the most.

You can look at who has referred you a fantastic patient over the last year.

What we see in the psychology of referring and what the studies say is that it's kind of a Pareto principle. About 10 to 12% of your patients will refer over 90% of your patients.

So if you know who refers, the best thing you can do is just ask those people for more referrals.

You don't want to try and get people to start referring because that's a little bit of an uphill battle.

But if you just take the people who already refer and ask them, Hey, we love you as a patient. We're looking for more people like you. Do you have anybody who might benefit from what we do?”

You could create a message to send just to those people who you know are really good referral sources already.
