Customers Are Fruit Trees

A lot of people go to any provider that is called a chiropractor and assume that they know what the service is going to be: a chiropractic adjustment.

But that's just one thing we do. It's a great thing, sure, but it's just one piece of the puzzle.

When you offer additional services (in the hybrid model, for example), it's common for people to walk in the facility, see the possibility for exercising and say, “Oh my God. I've always wanted a place like this. I just didn't know it existed.”

And there's really so many services you can provide!

  • The classic chiropractic adjustments
  • Dry needling
  • Muscle work
  • Stretching
  • Massage
  • Weight loss and accountability
  • Diet and nutrition advice
  • Rehab exercises to get people back to where they were
  • You can then provide exercise to get people better than they ever were!
  • Group exercise to get them into a community and get them some support
  • Group exercise multiple times a week, where they're really making some positive changes, keeping themselves from being injured again and working towards a stronger, better future.

But how many of those incredible services are people actually aware of?

If nobody offers them and if there's no communication, they're really hard to get filled up. It's hard to get them busy.

Customers are like fruit trees. The fruit might be there, but it's not always ripe.

And customers are not always ready to buy from you.

But the thing about a fruit tree is, you might pick some oranges today, and there might be more oranges ready in a month or two.

What we can do is pick that fruit when it's ready – not when we are ready to sell.

And how can we do that?

By communicating regularly.

If we regularly communicate all the services we offer and market them in a good way, two months from now, somebody might now be interested in nutritional advice that they weren't interested in two months ago.

Somebody might be interested in training because they'll have to take a hike somewhere.

Things change, and all of a sudden your services become a higher priority.

It's great that we have so many different possibilities to offer. But remember that the fruit is only ripe if it gets enough sunlight and water and air.

And your patients will only buy those services from you if they have enough information.

Communication is KEY.
